Lunch with Minami

Today we I and Ritsuko had a lunch with Minami at her school.

In this week, she had a poster session introduce herself in front of the class.

She could present her poster and talk about her to her class mates and teacher.

And we had the invitation of lunch that was the one prize for her from her teacher.

Ritsuko picked taco salad. Minami was also same one.

I got ham and cheese wrap.

We had lunch with Minami and her classmates.

It was good experience for us, Minami seemed happy!

Haruki also had lunch near the next table with his class mates.

You had great job!

Minami's surprise bag

Minami brought back surprise bag from her class.

That was same rule which Haruki had last year.

Minami selected her album as a surprise.

And she was thinking the question about how to ask her class mate.

And she did it almost herself.

I think it was so great job, if it was same thing happen in last year, she could not do that.

I'm very happy to feel her great improvement in one year.

Chess

I taught how to chess to Haruki and Minami.
They saw their friends were playing chess in school, so they asked me that way to play.
I used to play Shougi, that was kind of Japanese chess, and sometime also did chess.
But as my bad memory I lost the role of each peace, so I studied again by Internet.
They were so first to understand the rule of chess.
They were able to enjoy playing it long time after my short teaching.

Library prize

Today Haruki and Minami got prize from library.

They read books 400 minutes for their summer vacation by today, it was almost every day 20minute a day.

They got a lot of free meal ticket and base ball ticket.

I have to bring them to some activity soon!

Summer vacation start!

Haruki and Minami are starting their summer vacation.

In the morning they studied their homework from school.

And Ritsuko taught them multiplication, 9 by 9 table that is popular in Japan.

After that, they prepared my sister's visiting, they cleaned up guest room and had bed making.

My sister will come tomorrow night from Japan, she will stay almost two weeks.

After noon they read some homework's book again for one hour.

After finished it, they started to prepare for swimming, brought the small pool from storage and pump it up and put in water.

Young sister came back home at early evening, they play with pool again.

Although Otomi like pool very much, whenever washing her hair she usually pretend to be crying.

Minami braided Kanami and Otomi's hair.

She did very good and Kanami and Otomi was so pleased.

Anyway Ritsuko's work will get heavier than annual school days.

I have to help her more and more!

School is over

Today Haruki and Minami were last day of their school.

They finished their 2nd and 1st grade in U.S.A..

Last year they came from Japan, at that time both of them did not read and write at all.

Today they brought the report cards, prize and gifts from their teacher.

Each of them show excellent result.

I can understand their hard work through year.

And each teacher's comment also so great.

They were loved very much by their class and ELL teachers.

I and Ritsuko, we talk about their result and work, we are absolutely proud of them!

Great job Haruki and Minami!

Let's have a good summer vacation and keep studying hard together!

Ballet recital

Minami had good job today.

She play ballet in front of so many people.

She was not so nervous and did with relaxing.

So we could enjoy seeing her performance and take a lot of pictures.

After recital, we had big barbecue party at Brock's home.

Takashi family also were invited and join that party.

Brock and Toshi treat us very well.

We had so good time to talk about several things that we stayed there till late night!

ELL Party

There was ELL party at lunch time today.

That party was kind of potluck party, almost every kid's parent brought some food.
ELL class has a lot of kinds of race.
I could see several food on the table.

Haruki, Minami and I were enjoying various meal, but they wanted to go outside as quick as possible.

I could find the reason why, he wanted to get ice candy!

It was amazing, why that ice candy was sold in school??

After school Haruki had Cub scout meeting at neighbor church.
We attend that meeting first time and Haruki was introduced to all of scouts.

Next week, Haruki will study about bird in scout activity.

Birthday party at Chucke. Cheese's

Today We had birthday party for Haruki and Minami at Chucke. Cheese's.

They invited each friend to party, all of 8 kids celebrate Haruki and Minami.

This was first time for us to come Chucke. Cheese's, where is combination of pizza restaurant and game center.

Kids looked so happy and they were enjoying several games. And they could ticket to play some games and correct them. After that they can get candy or some small things depend on the amount of ticket.

Anyway both of Haruki and Minami had great time with their good friends.

I believe that it will be one of the best birthday party for them.

I really appreciate their friend and family!

Mini basketball

Today I went to JOE'S again.

I looked for foot ball, luckily I got just last one!

And I bought mini basket ball goal on impulse.

To tell the truth I want actual basket goal, but for now that will be starter to be interested in basket ball and play with ball for kids.

After dinner, I set up that goal, Haruki and Minami begun to play.

At first they hardly got goal, but in a short while they could do it well.

After a while I hope I can get real goal!

Dance result

Minami has ballet lesson after school every Monday.

And today is final day for lesson, and she got progress report from that class.

There are 5 items to rate her ballet skill.

All of them were excellent!

She will perform her achievement of her half of year effort in front of the audience, and that was scheduled May 30

I'm looking forward to seeing her great dance and happy face!

Birthday Ice cream

Famous ice cream shop "Cold Stone" they send gift ticket as a birthday present for everyone who registered it. So we went to get ice cream for using Haruki and Minami's ticket.

And we also got additional one for Kanami, Otomi and us.

We visited there after dinner around 7 o'clock, there are a lot of people in line in front of the ice cram show case. That was surprising, but it is less than in Japan Gotemba outlet where we used to go 2 years ago.

All of us had happy time with delicious ice cream.

Birthday Sushi party

Today We went to shopping for Minami's present.

Her request is "Littlest Pet Shop", that is small animal toy.

Some days ago, she read the book about that in school, and after that she got some book.

So recently time, that "Little Pet Shop" is her most favorite thing.

She also can play with little sister Kanami, but not Otomi.

Haruki and I went to neighbor park with his new skate.

He was enjoying it.

So I also want to play with him.

Finally I went to sports shop and got it.

I'll have a practice with Haruki!

Ritsuko arranged Sushi-party for Haruki and Minami's birthday party.

That is the most favorite meal for them.

So they looked very happy and after dinner, they ate cup cake that is same as yesterday they delivered at their school.

Birthday

Today, it is Haruki and Minami's birthday.

They got up early this morning, because they wanted congratulation message from us at once.

But unfortunately when I wake up by their morning voice, I forgot to say "Happy birthday".

After a while, I remembered special day, and say to them "Happy birthday!".

They had special event in their class also.

Ritsuko brought some cup cake to their each class.

And both of their class mate congratulated Haruki and Minami in their every class.

After school Haruki had Shorinji activity, before that I took him to sports shop to buy skate board as his birthday present.

After dinner, there was one surprising from Po.

He brought birthday presents for Haruki and Minami.

They got nice present and looked so happy.

We don't give to Minami her present yet.

So we will go to shopping for her tomorrow.

Family health

Today I took Minami and Otomi to Family health. It is St. Lukes group hospital and there is neighborhood from my home.

Minami had still small fever, pink eyes and sore throat and she was absent from school today.

Otomi also had pink eyes and runny nose, but she looked fine and acted up at home very much!

Minami had ear infection Otomi had cold, after that Ritsuko went to pharmacy and pick up some medicine for them.

Kanami is still O.K. please keep your good health condition!

I hope both of thme became well as soon as possible.

Ski school day2

Today it was ski school 2nd day for Haruki and Minami.

It was colder than yesterday, but they were still with the motivation for skiing.

We arrive Bogus at 9 o'clock, so took the lift 2nd time prior to the class.

While there lesson I took lift several times, may be 7 times over, my hamstring began to cry, so I took a rest until there class was done.But after class they still wanted to ski so I went together just one time.

After that they came back to home, they started their homework and studied Japanese, especially "Kanji" for about two hours.

I allowed to play with Nintendo Wii because of finish studying so hard.

Otomi played peek-a-boo herself near side of her brother and sister was doing game.

She looked happy.

We had happy Sunday!
