I restart my wood working again.
And these are new works.
Wooden ornament!
Just cut with band saw which has 1/8 inch blade.
My favorite country Idaho U.S. and Shizuoka Japan.

Finally I set up big lathe from Boise U.S.A.
Before then I reorganized my workshop.
I want to try big bowl project with big one!

New wood life in Japan!

Finally came back from Boise Idaho, two month ago.
Still I have lot of un-opend boxes in my room!
And need to organize my wood work shop.

First to do is build shed in my garden for many stuff!
My father help me to do, but he did finish almost...

1st shipment

Today we finished 1st shipment to Japan.
We pack 70% stuff of all we have.
So now, we have lot of space in each room.
I'm worry about if there is enough space in my Japanese home when we back to Japan.

MP for pen

Do I need to mass production for pen making?
I have plan to give some for present.
But I'm worry about if I have much enough time to finish!
Anyway I'll keep making till midnight!

Pen blank

I got several pen blanks.
Woods, acrylic and cob of the corn.
I have many ideas, but there is not enough time.
I really think time is money, no I can't buy money, too expensive.....

Present!

I got very nice present from my friends!

It was Boise state stone!
We'll put it in front of our home in Japan!

Haruki got glasses

Haruki seems he has bad eye.
So we checked his eye few weeks ago.
And finally he got first pair of glasses.
I also need to check?

Portland -Day5-

Today we went to shopping.
First of all, we visited downtown again, to Lloyd center.
There was ice skate link inside of that shopping mall.
Then we went to Uwajimaya, Japanese food market and had lunch there.
I wanted to go Woodcraft shop at Portland, and got some pen turning stuff.

On the way of craft shop, Ritsuko found big shopping mall, we decided to get there.
There were several shop and we could enjoy great shopping.
We were happy with no-tax and save money, maybe?

Portland -Day4-

We visit OMSI today.

It was nice museum for kids.

They had good experience with their hands.

Girls, Minami and Otomi were so interested in how baby was born.

Haruki was so curious to know the space, physics and technology.

We also had seen the movie at OMNIMAX theater, it was nice 3D movie, the Deep Sea.

It was so nice for kids and I and Otomi had good opportunity to sleep!?

At Dinner, we could make a chance to meet our friends Derek-san and his daughter.
We had great dinner also, thank you our friends Derek-san!

Portland -Day2-

Today, it was medical check day today, and so tough day for us.

I and Ritsuko need to bear off eating after blood test.

But we need long times fo complet all of tests.

And we finally ate something about 5:30!

We went to "Todai" restaurant.

It was buffet style, and we ate lot of sushi and sweets.

Portland -Day3-

This morning, we went Saturday market near the riverside.

There were lot of hand made crafts and we had a good chance to see them.

And Haruki want to get "Spoon-man’s funny hair band, Minami got decoration for ballet costume, Kanami and Otomi got caramel popcorn, I and Ritsuko had nice ornament which will be moved by wind or someone's hand.

Then, we went shopping to Woodburn outlet.

We got a lot of stuff which we want.

Haruki ask us to take them to "Marine police" which was sushi restaurant and the sushi on the dish was put on the belt and they were moving around the guest.

It was pretty good restaurant for family, good cost performance.

We'll go to Oregon Zoo or OMSI tomorrow; it will be depending on weather.

Portland -Day1-

In this morning I and Ritsuko could not get up early.

Haruki and Minami, they did and call us around 6 o'clock.

We supposed to get Japanese consular office this afternoon at Portland.

But we just arrived at here almost 6 o'clock, and we gave up.

And I found Japanese restaurant near from our hotel.

It was "Murata" Japanese restaurant.

We ate Sushi and Tempura, it was so nice!

Tomorrow we will have medical check up, so I and Ritsuko need to bear off breakfast for the test of fasting blood sugar level.

Snow and Easter

 Last week Haruki and Minami had a spring break.
So I also got day off for playing with them.
I took Haruki and Minami to Bogus for skiing.
There were still nice snow.

And it was snowing through Saturday.
On Saturday, Minami, Kanami and Otomi wanted to go egg hunt, but  Haruki wanted to go skiing again to Bogus.
So I and Haruki went to Bogus for final skiing with Po.
And it snow was so amazing, powder and deep!
So nice.

The group of egg hunt , Minami got bunny basket and they got lot of candies, they also had good experience.

We had great spring break!

Egg hunt at zoo Boise

We went egg hunt to Zoo Boise.
There were so many people in the zoo, for egg hunt!
It was really surprising for us.
Haruki, Minami, Kanami and Otomi got a lot of eggs.
They had  great time!

New Shoes

I got new shoes for jog!
I hope I can run faster than before!?

Pen turning

Recently I'm trying European pen turning.
It is fun but I need more technic for detail.
Especially I need to care connection area between blank and top or bottom of pen.
I tried bamboo blank first time, I like bamboo style!

Corn cob

It's corn cob.
I tried to make pen with it at first time.
It was very easy to turn, but very brittle similar to cork.
It was for our friend's birth present.

  

Haruki got first place at Pinewood derby!

Today we had pinewood derby.
We started to make pine car few weeks ago.
Haruki designed and select color.
I cut wood then Haruki sand it by several paper.

I polished wheel and axes very well.
And looks very good!

Haruki's car is fastest in the our den.
He got first place at first and final pinewood derby.
We hope we can enjoy pinewood derby in Japan also.
